Captain Of My Ship...2020 Thoughts

However great 2019 may have been...it's soon to be history..! There is a lot to look back to and be happy but better to live life on the edge. The future beckons and an opportunity to conquer a new frontier.
New Year, New Frontier

In 2020, what does one need to get much better results that those of 2019? How can one be the Captain of their ship and master of their fate? How can one be in the driving seat as they face the realities of 2020?
A calm Sea never made a skilled Sailor

No one can predict 2020 events with accuracy many things or events happen every year (planned or unplanned, good or bad, global, national or personal) and predicting with precision how things will unravel is extremely hard.

So much unknowns to mess up plans

The Old Greek definition of happiness is the full use of one's powers a long lines of excellency. How do I maximise opportunities however few they may be? How much advantage does having a good grasp of the past, current and future Macro and Micro picture of my environment give me? How can I use this for happier returns...

Successful hunt...happy returns

What knowledge and skills do I need to exploit the opportunities nature creates? What books do I need to read in 2020..? How do I improve my reading skills and habits..? Biographies, Fiction, Plays, Poems, Business books, Strategy books...how do I strike the balance?
Reading brings us unknown friends

How do I open up my mind to learn to play a guitar? Will my faith and persistence help me perfect my Spanish and learn French? I want to learn dancing Salsa, Improve my tennis...how can I create more time to have so much fun?
I am still learning

For the Universe, in 2020 how can I be a good ancestor who plants trees they may never see?
A good conscience my only sure reward

The 2012 Solari Awards

The things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honour, courage and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil;…and that true love never dies. A man should believe in those things because those are the things worth believing in. (Quote from Second hand lions)

It’s Randy Pausch who said that if there is an elephant in the room introduce them. I resolved to face my fears and never to take the easy way out and 2012 is one memorable one where every day is awesome. It’s made me realise that I am confident enough to face fear and that I am strong enough to press past setbacks. I am determined to enjoy every second of my life and I think I am on the right track since I learn something new every day and continue to improve. The Elephant is 2012, a monster of a year where it was not hailstorms but storms of spears. 2012 is fast fading and I am proud to be a better man than when it beckoned.

A single lion can hunt well and a pride of lions hunt really very well. I pride myself as a lion and find my friend Riquelme a man of exceptional intellect, vision of an eagle; a sharp memory and lots of wits wins the gong again. The razzmatazz of 2012 can be attributed to the very trusted and reliable friend of mine. The only one, who has seen it from the beginning, knows all the moves used to spread awesomeness. We have invented where there was none, improvised when outsmarted, went back to the drawing board when the odds were against us and explored the extremes where only the greatest go. To set the records straight, the recipients of awesomeness were some of the hottest girls in Kampala. To the Wingman, you’ve helped me write an interesting chapter of my life, one that gives me great confidence to embrace 2013. To the previous generations of inventors, statesmen, Christians and geniuses, we will not let you down. You passed the baton on to us and with your spirit, courage and humility, we will make you proud.

Braveheart

The Dove awards for 2012 (award for a girl who represents love and peace in 2012) belongs to a young lady who has impressed me with her intellect, poise, growing confidence and courage. She is one of those hot, witty, confident and innocent ones. She dared to dream and dared the dream. She was ambushed and yielded to the inexorable winds of awesomeness. She used to observe from afar but now talks and touches the aesthetic…I will use the Spanish code name Regio for you.

Better to light a candle than to curse darkness

If the mountain does not come to Solari, then Solari must go to the mountain.  Imagine a life thats full of adventure, imagination and tricky naughtiness! A rolling stone gathers no moss and I have discovered that there are many experiences that I must experience. A bucket list of adventures I must experience.
It’s better to light a candle than to curse darkness so I try to focus on the possibility that I will realize everything on my bucket list. I wanted to relay some of my adventures that are pretty awesome and then I realized that I but have lived my life at a quarter mast. So its time to refocus on living the awesome life.

My end is not near and life has lots to offer. The biggest question I have is not when that end comes but how to live my best at all times so that when the end is nigh, I won’t be sweating like a whore in church, regretting all that I did not realize. I know that many of the things I plan to do to live my life to the fullest will make some of my friends grin like a dog eating butter off a brush. Of course such people are scarecrows in good circumstances because it’s impossible to win the race until you venture to run. Necessity is the mother of invention and I will be as happy as a fat puppy when I realize everything on the bucket list. 2011 Solari Awards

Amigos, before we say adios to 2011... It’s time to unveil this blogs most famous feature; the annual Solari777 personality of the year. Over the past 12 months, I have met many incredible people both in real life and in my dreams and its only prudent that there is that one person or two who have most influenced the course of my life in the whole year.
I firmly believe that my finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of, is the moment when i have worked my heart out in a good cause and lie exhausted on the field of battle – victorious. I admire work, dedication, competence, honesty and trust, and these qualities have influenced the results.

Legendary...march...

I remember when my friend told me that if I wanted to succeed I should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success. He is my wing-man, someone with an impressive strong balance between verbal and intellectual skills combined with a great wits. His most enduring skills, however, are his exceptional analytical skills, honesty and insights. Often times, he has a plan brewing in his head which has made it easy to live the legendary life fitting our talents... Amigos, it’s an honor and a great thrill to have a wing-man with this kind of aptitude. He is a legend, not the kind that live in fairytale s but a friend of mine, Mr. Riquelme and he is the runner up for personality of the year 2011.

hats off to the wing-man

The dove is a symbol of love and peace and the personality of the year...who happens to be the woman of the year as well represents this. She has pushed me to the best that I can be and I keep on improving each day. I treasure her because my spiritual life is thriving, I have experienced a transformation of my spiritual life from its worst to its best. It’s so delightful to think of the amazing things shes done for me plus of course the Windhoek’s...and...her smile makes it even thrilling. It’s not just what she has done for me that makes me value her. I have observed her at work and she is gracefull and efficient. So many that know her testify about the lively presence she exudes. Im running out of things to say, so I will end with an edited line from her favorite song, You say it best when you mention her name not... I normally call her DOVE AWARDS...

Lions are prey to the wise...

This story may be true as I may have been a witness to it. His voice can charm birds out of trees… he is almost always in control. He has a great attitude, panache and looks that he often uses to mesmerizing effects, bringing along a cocktail of pleasure, anxiety, tears and nostalgia to the forbidden fruits. Tables have turned and he is a bewildered victim of recycled affections. This is one chapter he never wished to go back to but life can play cards to us that we just have to deal with.

sweet doves...
There is one victim of his who is stuck in his present like an irritating song that just can’t get out of your mind. She, formerly an innocent, single minded beauty whose affections he won after illustrious pursuit had grown into an enigmatic poetic presence.  On his way to a favorite bar and restaurant for Namibia’s finest lager, a strange invisible sweet perfume hit his senses, her appearance was like of a Greek goddess. He had little time to do his groundwork on her before she struck.
playful!!!

The first thought in his mind was a silent prayer transforming her into her twin sister but when he moved closer the certainty of it being his former victim drove him to hoping that she was married. His legs gave way and he sat down like an eagle struck by cupids arrow. His mind was working at lighting pace trying to recollect events of yester years.  He was all out and for once unable to recover his wits

what's next amigo's
She smiled at him with a smile that naturally melts icebergs. The winds were lovesick with her! She was there not to expend revenge using the Kampala’s chick guide to treating an ex-lover that dumped you. Her goal was to seduce him on her terms and to take him through the emotional rollercoaster he used to take his lovers through. Her spell lured him to her web like a blind hermit and her delightful sense of spontaneity thrilled him with a sudden change of direction.

tip of ice...berg...
Key to life...'we all have weaknesses, vulnerabilities, frailness in our makeup. A person's vulnerability is often what is most seductive about them'.

Next to doing the right thing is having fun...

Saw a friend of mine bellyaching for hours like a despondent ram about his dry run (though it seems his been living in a desert). He is been trying to give all possiological explanations of his bad luck but any half witted turtle can adduce to the fact that If anyone wants to succeed in the noble art, they should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success and in this case I will call it recycling. The World owes no man a living but it owes every man an opportunity to make a living. Two days without prey is eternity to a lion. Just imagine what two years would be...possibly the death knell.
Lots of excuses...you're a lame duck!!!

The city has become some sort of small world where everyone is known by everyone. The only place where man can be incognito is in Moroccos capital in Kampala...which the distinguished delegate from Butabika knows by another popular name. the amazing thing about this hangout is that one knows few people and few people know him. Guess it’s because everyone is pursuing socially acrimonious motives (calling it trapping the lamb)...and are disguising it with smoking... I will not talk about the quality of the main attractions lest regulars are bombed with competitors. Stay where you want to hangout...we desire no rivals.
Wingman's pledge...

Going to the beach on a Tuesday would be an incredible idea. The challenge is on...next Tuesday...I will be lying in the sand, listening to the waves and assimilating the rhythm...folks at work dont envy me... I know too well that there will be lots of company at the beach. If you want me to find you there... the ground rules are; no cameras, I guess the rest you know like all amorous events...and will have fun.
simply awesome...???

Beer ni bora...not because I am a legendary pint imbibing creature. I have found pleasure in the company of wise men and these wise folks spend a good amount of time pricking their conscience with a bottle of Namibia’s finest.
